Postnatal Exercise

After the birth of your baby it is easy to forget about your own health and wellbeing as you focus on caring for your baby. Our structured postnatal plan gives you exercises you can complete at home, complemented by sessions in our private gym to rebuild muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness.

Have you had a baby recently?

    Do you...
  • Feel the frequent need to check if you have accidentally urinated? Did I laugh too much and pee? Did that cough start it off again?
  • Battle with looking at loose and sagging skin in the mirror daily and want to lose weight or tone up?
  • Worry about having diastasis recti and not knowing what to do about it? Feeling embarrassed that you still look pregnant?
  • Worry that your body will never go back to your prenatal weight and you will have to permanently live in maternity clothes?
  • Find that you are desperate to exercise but unsure what is safe to do?
  • Question what you can even do if you are breastfeeding? What if my boobs leak?
  • Have an important event to take part in and need help to be physically ready for it?
  • Struggle to keep up with your little one/s and burn out too easily?

  • If you tick any of the above, Nurture Health would love to help you get back on track.

Our postnatal courses

We can offer safe exercise advice from as early as 24 hours after birth or we have two structured postnatal fitness courses:

  • PP6 - Mums Postnatal Recovery Course: This course is designed to help mum’s repair their core (including Diastasis repair) and pelvic floor post baby. It is important to strengthen these burdened areas prior to moving onto more strenuous exercise.

  • Requirements to join are GP/ Midwife sign off (6-8 weeks normal delivery + 12 weeks Caesarean) and completion of a pre-exercise medical checklist provided by us.

  • PPF - 'Fit Mum In Process' follow on course: This course is designed to help mums integrate more structured routines into their daily lives; to help introduce body weight, cardiovascular and resistance training routines.

  • Requirements to join are completion of the PP6 course or alternatively 1 year postpartum and completion of a pre-exercise medical checklist provided by us.
